“Home” was the first song I developed after the start of Corona. Some of the instruments and sounds come directly from the default settings of the Akai Force, which has constantly accompanied me throughout my production. At one point, a central synthesizer was supposed to sound different. But the Force crashed, and suddenly the synth sounded slightly different, with a slight glitch. This glitch eventually made its way into the final song. The central theme of the song is the idea that home is relative. Home can be anywhere, as long as the right people are there. Even if you’ve left a place, the memories and experiences remain. After several years and moves, one can feel at home in many places. This feeling remains, even if you move again and the original stories slowly fade. For me, of course, Schliersee means home above all. Hence, I tried to capture the vastness of the Bavarian Alps musically. When I listen to the song, I imagine flying over the mountains from a bird’s-eye view or sitting on a train watching the landscape pass by. Home.
